While discussing juice cleanse tips, let’s add a bit of context while we’re at it. We’ll tackle some popular questions and make sure to drop some reminders for you as we go along. Without further ado, here are our insights!

Is Losing Weight With a Juice Cleanse Possible?

Yes, it is possible… but not in the way that you think. It may seem straightforward, doesn’t it? Surely you LOSE weight when you don’t eat anything! Here’s the deal. It is possible to somewhat quickly lose weight on a juice cleanse. But all that lost weight can creep back in if you don’t support it with regular exercise and a healthy diet after the cleanse. It’s not a sustainable way to lose weight.

No matter what people tell you, you don’t just maintain your new weight without any extra effort. If the influencers you watch online seem to keep their post-cleanse waistline, that’s because they’re working hard behind the scenes – and if weight loss is your goal, so should you!

That brings us to…

Tip #1: Maintain a proper diet and do some exercise after your cleanse. Don’t just sit around and do nothing after working so hard on your cleanse.

Why Am I Losing Water Weight On My Cleanse?

We’re glad that you asked! Seems weird, right? You’re only drinking juice which is a liquid. How on earth is it possible to lose water weight?

Without getting too technical, the reason is sodium. As you can expect, you’re taking in way less sodium when you’re on a juice cleanse. It’s sodium that helps retain water in your body. That’s why hydration and energy drinks often contain it! No sodium = less water retention. That’s how you lose water weight.

Realistically speaking, you’re likely to lose weight watchers with diets in general. It does make up 60% of your body weight after all. However…

Juice Cleanse Tip #2: Don’t simply rely on a juice cleanse to help you lose weight.

Should I Drink Water While On My Cleanse?

With all this talk of water weight and having to drink juice for all this time, you might be thinking that you don’t have to drink any water while on your cleanse. That’s where you’re wrong!

You still have to drink water on your juice cleanse. Staying hydrated is all the more important now as your body will likely expel toxins during this period. And we need to stress this – drink water. Don’t drink sodas or iced teas or whatever drinks that are filled with unnecessary ingredients and “empty” calories.

Tip #4: Don’t forget to drink plenty of water on your juice cleanse.

Can I Eat On a Juice Cleanse?

Here’s another detail about juice cleanses that often gets lost in translation. Believe it or not, you CAN eat while you’re on your cleanse. And before you start asking yourself “What can I eat during a juice cleanse?”, we’ll go right ahead and tell you!

There’s no reason to starve yourself if you can’t bear to go another day without eating. If you want something to eat, think light. Half an apple, a slice of avocado, a stick of celery go for it. Maybe even a salad! You can also grab a handful of nuts or trail mix. This will be enough to satisfy hunger pangs and light enough to still go on your juice cleanse.

Tip #5: Listen to your body. If you feel like you’re starving, eat!

What to Do After a Juice Cleanse?

Everyone’s too focused on the “present”. That’s all well and good, but you have to prepare yourself for after the juice cleanse. And where do you start?

With your tummy going on a break, not having to break down solid foods for some time, you can’t just shock it with a heavy meal after your cleanse. Ease your body into your routines. Make sure you have access to easily digestible foods for a couple of days or so.

Tip #6: Go slow and steady after your cleanse. Eat light foods first and eventually work your way up to your regular diet.

Run Your Own Juice Cleanse

Remember. Everyone handles new diets differently. You shouldn’t be comparing your journey with others too much unless it’s to simply compare notes and pick up a few pointers.

Without the pressures of handling diets like your friends would, you’ll be able to observe and listen to how your body reacts to this new phase. Remember your goals and try your best to achieve them.

Tip #7: Take this opportunity to adjust to a new diet! You are, after all, partaking in a cleanse to lose some weight and you need a proper diet to do so.
